Bible Belt Blogger recognized as top blog
flockwoodThe Social Science Research Council has issued a report entitled “The New Landscape of the Religion Blogosphere”.
The report
“surveys nearly 100 of the most influential blogs that contribute to an online discussion about religion in the public sphere and the academy.”
I was surprised and pleased to find out today that the Bible Belt Blogger was included on the most influential blogs list.
h/t to Jose for pointing me to the list. Thanks to all of the regulars who have visited my blog and posted comments over the past three years.

We certainly are a diverse lot!

I was a little surprised to see who made the list and who didn’t. I might gently suggest that it is an unscientific survey. Which is a shame, because it is possible to put together a scientific survey using traffic and inbound link measures.

Traffic and inbound hit measures may show quantity, but they don’t show quality! The list is supposed to include blogs that have influence — not necessarily the greatest readership. I say, congratulations Frank!

Blog-news is the nectar that brings down bloggers from different parts of the world and opens up their free minds with out fear of anything. Three cheers for Frank for providing interesting news as food for thoughts and congratulation to all bloggers for constructive criticism on social issues to live in a better world.

Thanks Julian and Caleb, Perplexed and MDSF. Yes, indeed, this was an unscientific survey. But I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. It’s nice that the Social Science Research Center saw fit to mention my blog. And if you know of good blogs that should have made the list, but didn’t — be sure and let SSRC know. The list, they said, may be expanded and updated in the future.
