No man knows the day, nor the hour, except for some guy in California. Doesn’t that figure?

This is another deception in the name of religion. Harold Camping (88), a civil engineer by trade is “bombarded” with numbers and lost his mind. We know “man is mortal” but nobody knows when. Same way our galaxy would fall one day in a black hole (may be) and all stars as describe in the Bible would lost gravitational force and crashed one another. But Christ cautious us saying no one knows not even angels in heaven, nor He Himself, but only His Father knows (Matthew 24:26). Bottom line we would have to be prepared for Christ’s 2nd coming.

Who cares about when the world will end? If we knew when it did, would our intentions and actions be as sincere? Doubtfully so.

  3. cheese Says:

I’m not worried about the end coming anytime soon. To date, everyone who’s ever predicted the end has been flat wrong.

  4. MDSF Says:

I’ve listened to Harold Camping a little when I’ve been near New York City; WFME in Newark is a Family Radio station, and it makes for fascinating listening: most of their programming consists of either hymns or Harold Camping. It’s sort of like Christian Radio from the 1950s, if there was such a thing.

For the most part Camping sounds rather conservative but totally orthodox and totally lucid until he wades into numerology. And when he does that all bets are off. His “(Atonement x Completeness x Heaven), squared” formula is straight out of the Middle Ages, and he tosses it off as if it were common knowledge.

    DANGEROUS AIRWAVES:
HAROLD CAMPING’S CALL TO FLEE THE CHURCH

    SYNOPSIS
Harold Camping is the president of Family Radio. He teaches that God has done away with the church,
and thus there should be no more local congregations, elders, deacons, and ordinances such as baptism or
the Lord’s Supper. He maintains that the Holy Spirit has left the church as an empty shell with no power
to proclaim the gospel. Because Camping calls his followers to flee the churches and form fellowships
around his teachings, Christians must understand what the Bible teaches about the church and what the
proper means of biblical interpretation are in order to counter Camping’s false teachings.
He has the ears of millions across the world through his far-flung radio empire. His listeners tend to
develop a strong attachment to him, finding in his esoteric, allegorical interpretations a view of Scripture
they do not hear anywhere else (and for good reason). His name is Harold Camping, famous for his failed
prophecy concerning the return of Christ in 1994, and now becoming more famous for his teaching
against the very church of Jesus Christ.
Harold Camping is the president of Family Station, Inc., a California-based ministry with worldwide
broadcast facilities, including more than 150 outlets in the United States.1 His deep, sonorous voice can be
heard any hour of the day — by radio, satellite, or Internet broadcast. Camping helped begin Family Stations
in 1958, and he later devoted himself full time to the ministry. He is especially known for his daily call-in
program, “Open Forum.” His style is unmistakably unique: he speaks slowly with a distinctive voice and
    cadence.
Over the years, Family Radio has provided a valuable service to many churches and pastors. Many very
solid, godly men have proclaimed the gospel of grace through the facilities of Family Radio, including the
late Dr. James Boice of the Tenth Presbyterian Church. Many local ministries have been greatly blessed by
having their services aired in their area on the network.
Today, however, churches and ministries are fleeing Family Radio as people would flee a burning building.
Why? Harold Camping has chosen to pit himself against the entire church, proclaiming that God has
destroyed the church, that the era of the church is finished, and that the only means God now uses to
evangelize the world is Family Radio “and ministries like it.” Camping spends much of his on-air time
explaining to listeners why they should leave their churches, abandon the oversight of elders, stop using the
ordinances (baptism and the Lord’s Supper), and gather around their radios for “fellowship” in the “postchurch
age.” He has declared that churches that once aired their worship services on the network must
follow new rules. They can no longer call themselves churches on the program. They cannot announce
meeting times, and pastors cannot refer to themselves by that title on the air. As a result, most have removed
their services, leaving Family Radio a relative ghost town.

Whether we care/worry or not about the end of the world, but still it is fact based on both scientifically as well as Biblically, that this world is not for ever. Insincere, greedy, lust, war, family disintegration, terrorism etc. in other word decline of moral value would enhance the end sooner rather than later, as did massive green house effect by past three/four decades expedited global warming rapidly. Like restoration of natural greenhouse effect, by going back to using natural resources such as wind power, solar energy, bio-gas etc we should also go back to restore moral value to be natural human to fulfill the dream of the Holy God as depicted in the Holy Bible.

  7. KD Says:

It is quite apparent that the folks are not reading God’s Word. The Bible, the Ark.
Stay in it and ask God for help in understanding His Word. Pray for spiritual eyes and ears to see and hear what He is telling you. Noah (and the people) knew the time, Jonah (and the people of Nineveh) knew the time. Why not us???? There is so much distraction in this world today that one just doesn’t have time for God!! He has so much to tell us in His Word, the Ark. “Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping”..Mark 13:36 “And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch” Mark 13:36 Watch the Bible everyday…. Psalm 1:

  8. KD Says:

    I agree

  9. MDSF Says:

By the way: if anyone can think of a way to make money off this prediction I’m all ears.

Simply giving odds and taking bets on whether the world will end on a given date won’t work: who places a bet they don’t expect to be around to collect?

  10. KC Says:

    Ha, good point!

  11. Roger Green Says:

I have a presentation on that day. Phew! Won’t have to prepare.

I jest. Nobody knows the day and time…

  12. José Says:

Au contraire. A great many people know the day and time. (They just don’t agree amongst themselves.)
