Texas Clinton (Thursday evening): Barack Obama’s campaign has been “very positive and extremely civil.”

Ohio Clinton (Saturday afternoon): “Enough with the speeches and the big rallies and then using tactics that are right out of Karl Rove’s playbook. … Shame on you, Barack Obama. …Meet me in Ohio and let’s have a debate about your tactics and your behavior in this campaign.”

So, is Barack Obama’s campaign positive and extremely civil? Or shameful? When Obama and Clinton face off at their next debate in Ohio, I’m guessing Obama will be quoting Austin Hillary to discredit Ohio Hillary.

It seems to me that Hillary Clinton really boxed herself in by praising Obama’s campaign on Thursday. …

During the Democratic presidential debate in Austin, Hillary Clinton said this: “You know, I think you can tell from the first 45 minutes, you know, Senator Obama and I have a lot in common. We both care passionately about our country. We are devoted to public service. We care deeply about the future. And we have run a very vigorous and contested primary campaign, which has been by most standards, I think, very positive and extremely civil.”

But her tone changed today in Ohio. (The guy standing behind her, nodding his head like a bobblehead doll, is Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland.)

By the way, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a presidential candidate attacked because he’s attracting too many supporters to his rallies. In Dallas on Wednesday, Barack Obama packed 17,000 supporters into Reunion Arena. Thousands more Obamaniacs were turned away. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, attracted 1,000 to 2,000 people at her rallies in Dallas and Fort Worth, press reports said.
