DIO-Central Florida votes no on KTF
flockwoodThe Standing Committee of Central Florida voted unanimously on Thursday, May 21, to withhold consent to the election of Kevin G. Thew Forrester as bishop of Michigan, according to standing committee president Al Jenkins.
Currently, the vote is running nearly two to one against Thew Forrester. But with dozens of votes still outstanding, it’s still too early to say how the vote will turn out nationally, Jenkins said.
The current standing committee count:
YES: 22
NO: 42
To become a bishop, Thew Forrester must receive at least 34 of the remaining 46 standing committee votes.

Frank,
A member of our Yahoo discussion group has posted that the Diocese of Colorado Standing Committee has voted no. Any confirmation on that from your end?
Thanks!

I e-mailed your question to the secretary of the Colorado standing committee, who forwarded my e-mail to the diocesan spokeswoman, who responded:
“Hello Frank -
As far as I know now, the Standing Committee of The Diocese of Colorado is not releasing their decision on consent to the Bishop of Northern Michigan.
If I find out differently, I will let you know.
Thank you.”

That said, StandFirmInFaith.com is reporting that Colorado voted ‘yes.’ So is VirtueOnline. Thus far, their track record regarding ‘yes’ votes has been nearly dead-on.
