But, as one who truly believes that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of the one, true, living God, I must look at the Episcopal Church and ask, “Is this really the Church that Christ intended to found?” A church that takes his commands so lightly, treats Him so irreverantly … nay at it’s best is a negligible force for good in the world!

Often times in scripture the church is referred to as the Bride of Christ. Would Christ truly want this unfaithful whore as His Bride. If my son came to me and told me he wanted to marry a woman as unfaithful to him as the Episcopal Church is to Christ, I’d forbid it.

It’s very nice that a staid and elite, hyper-educated and radical part of our population has a place to spend an hour or so on Sunday mornings, soaking up stained glass and mahogany images amidst classical music and romantic old English liturgies. But it’s not a church. It’s just a club. How I wish it weren’t so. But then again, I wish Santa Claus were so. Doesn’t change the facts.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said, “If you board the wrong train, it is no use running along the corridor in the other direction.” Folks, the Episcopal Church is going the wrong direction at lightning speed. Get off at the next stop, or I fear, you may never find your way back to Christ.
