Is Nevada the evangelical epicenter?

The Christian Science Monitor apparently got a $250,000 grant to create an interactive election map that goes beyond red and blue. Instead, it divides America’s counties up into 11 “communities” with names such as “Immigration Nation” and “Minority Central” and “Tractor Country.”

The “Patchwork Nation” even has an “Evangelical Epicenter” community. Oddly enough, many of the counties with the highest percentage of evangelical Christians didn’t make this list. But counties in Utah (the state with the lowest percentage of evangelicals) did. So did numerous counties in Oregon, Idaho and Nevada….
