Beginning with the race wars of the '60s, and proceeding to the cultural wars of the '90s and today, they have voted based on the idea that the Republicans were somehow more "moral" than the Democrats. I don't imagine that will change this year. The only question about the evangelical vote is how excited they will be about McCain; they won't vote for Obama, but they might stay home.
